Carmel Independent Chapel and Schoolroom were built in 1819. The chapel was rebuilt in 1832 in the Simple Round-Headed style of the long-wall entry type. Carmel has a lateral facade with end entries. A square date plaque with a moulded frame and gilt lettering reads: "Carmel /a adeiladwyd /gan Mr Jones /o Bantydefaid /1819 /Ailadailadwyd 1832".
